Pat Dwyer Candidate Statement 4 EID Division 2

Pat Dwyer

Retired Military Manager

Pat Dwyer:  US Air Force veteran, leader, community volunteer, married 48 years, father, El Dorado County 13 years.

Retaining our water rights is key to keeping rates affordable, protecting our health, safety, economy, agriculture and rural environment.  We must fend off efforts to send our water South.  These are my priorities.

The gridlock we see in politics and government comes from people creating divisions and fueling fear.  Fear mongering solves nothing and makes us vulnerable.  We must work together.

Throughout my long career, military and civilian, professional and public service, the path to solving problems has always been:  Listening, leadership and teamwork.  We must work together to stop California’s aggressive water control proposals, like rationing us to send more water South, and stop water taxes.

Education:  BA Business, MS Accounting, MBA Logistics

Professional Career:  Director, McClellan Air Force Base, 1,500-member workforce with annual $100 million budget, managed McClellan’s conversion to civilian use on time, under budget; Golden Gate College Professor of Operations Management, 16 years.

Community Service:  Mother Lode Rehabilitation Enterprises Board, 8 years; Diamond Springs-El Dorado Fire Protection District Board, 5 years; County Fire Safe Councils, 12 years, $2 million funding obtained.

I fought for better fire protection, help me fight for water rights and affordable rates.  I respectfully request your vote.
